doxology
The word doxology comes from two words in ancient Greek:
Together, the two words translate directly to “words of glory” or “utterance of praise.”
When we think of doxology, typically we think of a song or a hymn sung at the end of a church service - and that’s not incorrect.
However, in Scripture, doxology is so much more.
Oftentimes for the Biblical authors, a doxology was a written, poetic and worshipful explosion of praise which followed foundational truths (or doctrines) about Jesus and the Gospel.
That’s why we’ve decided to introduce a collection of expository teachings through several books of the Bible that each contain their own doxologies or explosions of praise after they expound on the doctrinal truths of Jesus and the Gospel.
