Loving our neighbors where the need is real
Some of the most important work we do happens off our campus. Our mercy teams cook and share meals with neighbors experiencing homelessness, and provide food at Hope at the Brick House — showing up with dignity, warmth, and the tangible love of Christ. If your heart beats for the overlooked, this is your team.
Why We Serve
Serving isn't how we earn our place — Christ has already secured that. It's how we live out the grace we've been given, using what God has entrusted to us to build up his people and love our neighbors.
Some of us are wired to teach, some to fix and build, some to welcome, some to quietly make everything run. The beauty of a church is that it takes all of it. Whether you can give an hour a month or a Sunday every week, there's a spot where your presence would make a real difference.
You don't need experience or a resume! Just a willingness to show up. Here's how it works.
01 Explore — Look over the areas in the section called “Find Your Team” above and see which one stirs something in you.
02 Reach out — Tell us where you'd like to serve and we'll connect you with the right team lead.
03 Get placed — Meet the team, get any training you need, and start serving alongside them.
A quick note: roles that work closely with children or with our Safety team include a background check and brief screening. It's one of the ways we keep everyone safe and cared for.
Three Steps to Get Started
Serving is how we grow
At Christ's Family Church, we don't see volunteering as keeping the machine running or a badge you earn once your faith feels "mature enough." It's part of how a person actually becomes like Jesus. Some of the deepest formation happens not in a classroom, but with a towel in our hands — the way Jesus washed his friends' feet and told us to do the same.
Something happens when we serve that rarely happens in the pew alone. We meet people we'd otherwise never know, and a crowd becomes a team. We grow in community, because shared work knits hearts together. And we're changed ourselves — you can't become like Christ as a spectator; his likeness is formed in the showing up, the giving, the loving of people who are hard to love.
That's discipleship in miniature: grace received, grace practiced, grace poured out. We serve because Christ first served us — and in the serving, we keep becoming who he's making us to be.
Ready to find your place?
Tell us where you'd like to serve, or that you're just not sure yet — either way, we'll help you find a team where you belong.
Not sure where you'd fit? Reach out anyway — we love helping people discover it.
